Yes, I’m serious. The other morning, my 4-year-old noticed the laundry basket full of clean clothes that I hadn’t finished putting away the previous day. He asked if he could help fold them. Um, of course! He loves to help me fold his laundry (when he’s in the mood). No, he doesn’t do it the way I would, but that’s okay. Little sister “helps,” too.
I love the proud look on his face when he folds something and asks, “like this?” Kids love to help, and it’s easy to underestimate what they can do. I’m guilty of it. I’m always impressed at how receptive they are to helping. My sister-in-law had my son (happily) dusting baseboards when he was 2. He also likes cleaning our sliding glass door.
What chores do your kids like helping out with?
