A Wandering Vine

Oil Cleansing Method

I’ve been cleaning and moisturizing my face with oil, and it’s never looked better. I know, it sounds so counter-intuitive. But when you remove your natural oils by washing with regular cleansers, your body just produces more to make up for it. It took me years to finally jump on the badwagon and give it a try. Once I did, I was hooked. My skin glows now. I’ve experimented with different blends and ratios of oils, and this is what I’m currently using (Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links. You can also try Jojoba Oil, Rosehip Oil, Grape Seed OilCoconut Oil, Olive Oil, etc.

I mix the oils in a dropper bottle. Start with a little bit (1-2 portions) while you experiment, until you find the combination that works best for you.

Wet your face with very warm water, and rub a few drops of the oil blend into your skin for a minute. Wet a washcloth with very warm water and gently massage your skin with it for another minute. I love using bamboo baby washcloths for this because they are so incredibly soft.

After you dry off, you can massage a couple drops of the oil into your skin as a moisturizer, if needed. Many people skip this step, but I still do it.

Not only does my skin look better, but I’m also saving a ton of money on cleansers and moisturizers. I also use anti-aging facial serum, eye cream, and neck cream, because I want to look young :), but they are not necessary.

Thanks for sharing. I have oily skin so I always thought it would make my skin more oily.

I thought the same thing, so I was reluctant to try it. I was very pleasantly surprised!

I also have very oily skin so have been very skeptical about oil cleansing.

I should try that, I don’t have any problem putting oil on my somewhat already oily skin. I suppose they also smell nice.

There isn’t much of a scent, but you can add a few drops of essential oils 🙂
